I worked at Lowe's

Pros

It was very high pay, good long breaks, and they made you feel like you belong there. It was fun to work there, and felt less like a job than most summer jobs do.

Cons

The hours would dwindle as the summer went on and full time hours were very hard to come by after July 4th since the money coming in was not as much.

I have been working at Lowe's

    Pros

Friendly and casual atmosphere, clean and safe work environment, employee empowerment, flexible shifts, corporate transparency, many locations with minimal commute,

    Cons

Individual achievement and hard work is not proportionally recognized or lauded for all employees who contribute to the same goal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In the absence of a department manager, designate a non management employee as shift-leader or teamleader for their department.

I have been working at Lowe's

    Pros

Improvement in technology assisted business, customer focus, etc, good benefits and employee incentive programs, on the job training and in company advancement

    Cons

Removal of comissions and SPIFF's, bumpy transitions through many changes that are not perceived as necessarily employee or customer friendly

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The best managers to work for bridge the gap between management and higher up to treat the employee as and important and integral part of the company. Taking away benefits resulting in loss of income runs counter to this and results in loss of valuable human resources

    No opinion of CEO
