    Pros

Located on a awesome campus by the lake, work-life balance is one of the best i have ever seen. Really nice folks to work with too... i guess one of the nicest...

    Cons

Compensation and Benefits are average and not as competitive when compared to other firms in the area. Work is not that challenging, and things move at a realllll slow pace...so if you are looking for something interesting or fast paced, this is not the place for you.

For some reason, there is a constant Re-org process which is more of a trial and error method here... kinda makes you feel management does not know what they are doing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I believe that you guys need to gear up and move faster and be more aggressive to move forward...

Need to make decisions with long term focus and stick to it.

I worked at Lowe's full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Reasonable pay for dept managers. Great co workers. Helping customers.

    Cons

Poor choices on choosing new employees. Staff turnover is over 50% - thats 1 out of every 2 starters quit or are fired wthin 3 months of starting. No experienced leadership. Management takes the easy way out using irrational decision making - intimidation and playing favorites to run the place. If you are creative - have a brain or integrity they will soon find some irrational reason to write you up so that they can look good . Staff are driven to exhaustion with understaffing - huge freight deliveries- a computer system based back in the steam age!! The harder you work the more they want. Management have no people skills. Weekly meetings are ajoke with managers all competing to see who can kiss up to the store manager the most! Managers are uneducated - scared stiff of corp.- hopeless at problem solving. If you want to survive be the grey man- otherwise you will be out ! HR and scheduling are a joke. No planning - no organisation and no people skills - admin and clerical mistakes at store level are so common that nothing ever really gets done. Store managers can double their salary by achieving sales- so they drive staff un til they are sucked dry and leave often thru total exhuastion. Dont expect to be thanked for any hard work either. They only favorites are those who make big sales like flooring. They expect you toservice customers - deal with heavy freight deliveries all at the same time. Rules change every few days!! A typical shareholder driven corp

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in the long term. Get rid of the uneducated middle management, respect the hardworker notg JUST the guy who manages to sell 10,000 grand of flooring. Have a look at why your company always lets the best people go. Explain to middle management how in the LONGER RUN- working with and coaching their people will benefit the co. in the longer run.
