Lowe's Corporate is not a pleasant place to work

Analyst (Former Employee) Mooresville, NC

ProsGood salaries (unless you are an Administrative Specialist or Merchandising Specialist in Training)

ConsThe company will move you around to whatever position they want you in, regardless of your preferences or what you went there for. Beginning in early 2012, the culture became one of instability and constant movement and change (not necessarily positive change, just change, like they are experimenting), with departments being shifted non stop from one group to another. My department was under 3 different VPs in one year. Everyone wonders if they will have a job tomorrow. It is very unsettling. Reorganization over and over and over and over.

Advice to Senior ManagementPeople actually do think about jobs before they apply for them, and they apply for the job they want. Putting them in another role, even though they might have the skills for it, is not going to make happy employees.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Lowe's appliance salesperson

Sales Specialist (Former Employee) Raleigh, NC

I worked at Lowe's full-time for more than 8 years

Pros: Good pay because of spiffs. Cons: Horrible schedule, managment was hit or miss, to much time doing other things around the store besides selling. Lowe's stores are extremely understaffed. Decreasing spiffs… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More

Great place to shop at, not the best to work at.

Appliance Sales Specialist (Current Employee) Nashville, TN

I have been working at Lowe's full-time for more than 8 years

Pros: Easy job. Discount on products and special pricing on… Cons: It is retail, anyone can do this job. It is hard to stand out. Management doesn't care about employees, but rather the bottom… Advice to Senior Management: Work in a store department for one day, without management responsibilities and it will open your eyes about what associates deal… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
