    I worked at Lowe's full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good pay because of spiffs.

    Cons

Horrible schedule, managment was hit or miss, to much time doing other things around the store besides selling. Lowe's stores are extremely understaffed. Decreasing spiffs every year, but manufactures will tell you they still pay Lowe's the same amount. So basically they are pocketing part of your commission. Did I mention the horrible schedule? Also, they took take away more benefits over the years. At one time they were a great company to work for, but now all they care about are their shareholders.

    I worked at Lowe's full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salaries (unless you are an Administrative Specialist or Merchandising Specialist in Training)

    Cons

The company will move you around to whatever position they want you in, regardless of your preferences or what you went there for. Beginning in early 2012, the culture became one of instability and constant movement and change (not necessarily positive change, just change, like they are experimenting), with departments being shifted non stop from one group to another. My department was under 3 different VPs in one year. Everyone wonders if they will have a job tomorrow. It is very unsettling. Reorganization over and over and over and over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People actually do think about jobs before they apply for them, and they apply for the job they want. Putting them in another role, even though they might have the skills for it, is not going to make happy employees.
