I have been working at Lowe's full-time

Pros

Nice place to work. Friendly staff. Great benefits for full-time retail sales associates.

Cons

as a kitchen designer, I'm expected to cover for other departments (appliances, plumbing, etc.). Shifts are varied and designers are expected to work shifts that range from 8 - 5 to 1 - 10. I've worked as many as eight days in a row, seven days in a row, etc. This makes for poor work/life balance and near impossible to plan in advance doctors and dentists appointments.

I have been working at Lowe's part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Starting pay for a cashier is higher than I've seen in most cashier positions. Quarterly bonus as long as the store reaches its goals.

    Cons

A lot of training on the computers the whole first week

Always chasing Home Depot but can't.

    I worked at Lowe's full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Pay is good. Benefits are decent. That's about it.

    Cons

Every time there's a release of quarterly financial results where they suck, like usual, compared to Home Depot, there's a knee jerk reaction throughout the company and they feel like they need to fire someone in management to pretend they're doing the right thing just the execution sucks. No vision or means to improve. Always a fear of them closing more stores or laying off more management in"beneficial changes"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in new stores in great locations. Quit scare tactics on leadership...support them, not scare them.
