I have been working at Lowe's full-time (less than an year)

Pros

- Cool co-workers
- Awesome Department manager
- Very understanding Manager's

I ended up at an awesome store. All the people there see to be quite nice. Now, there are a few people who are a little rugged, but we can't always have a perfect batch, can we?

Cons

- Some co-workers know how to get away with doing the bare minimum

Working in an entry level retail job, it's not uncommon to see some of the other entry employees not contributing as much as they could to get the job/tasks completed.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep on keepin' on.

    Hours, can never have a set schedule.

    Lowes # 1575 management are fair with everyone, they are doing a fine job.

    I have been working at Lowe's full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Many lateral positions available for different experiences. Fun work if enjoy working with public and helping consumers solve household issues or improvements. Career advancement is very possible if enjoy management.

    Cons

    On feet for 8+ hours on hard concrete floors. Have a sales force that is not given any commission incentives - only way to increase/advance pay is to get into management. Work retail hours that float from day to day, as not assigned a specific shift. Some consumers can be difficult to work with. Computer technology is onerous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Corporate ideas don't always translate well to the consumer's abilities, expectations or preferences which makes for a difficult sale. Update computers to handle consumer's requests in a much more efficient manor.
