    Pros

not many, i tend to enjoy most people i work with. At lowes it was a mix, the older people and management seem like that missed out on what they actually wanted in life, but the other hourly people were mostly great to work with

    Cons

i told them i was leaving they offered another position that i knew nothing abt and they said "we would literally hire someone off the street"

Current Employee - HRM  in  Oakland, MD
Current Employee - HRM in Oakland, MD

    Pros

Discounts and yearly bonus, 30% yearly. Based on annual salary

    Cons

Not for professional or career path. The HR Mgr. Position is good for recent college grads or individuals looking to change careers. Experienced level professions will not find challenging. All direction in the HR function is dicated from the corporate office to all stores and must be completed in the same manor. Senior level staff are not educated and have no business sense thus making it more difficult to make business decisions. Lowes promtes from within and does not push for education so the store manger may have been a cashier without even a high school diploma. Although there are a few individuals that would succeed, the vast majority do not. This contributues to high turnover.

Raises suck!!! I mean suck. All staff get same percent 2.5%. Performance has no bearing. This holds true for entire store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage senior staff to attend college
