Still a company led largely by the good ol' boy network. Professionals beware.

    I worked at Lowe's full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

If you have a high school diploma, you can work in the technology deployment group. This holds true of everyone through the Director level. What a great place - high tech Fortune 50 run by high school grads! Just be confident whether you know the answer or not.

    Cons

Technology Deployment Services (TDS) department has been run by uneducated and dishonest good ol' boys for years. Ask questions about the department's leadership history and staff's education. Ask who gets promoted and how. You couldn't make this stuff up. One director did prison time, another fired for ethics violations. They are gone but their minions remain and have the same standards.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop ethical standards and learn to do the right thing instead of endlessly promoting your friends. Check the numbers their feeding you, they just might be fraudulent. You have no checks and balances in this multi-million dollar department and its current director is self centered and has no clue what what he is doing. Send him back to the distribution center he came from.
