Pros

Some of the people are talented. The building is very nice.

Cons

Leadership is lacking. Strategy is lacking. Ethics are lacking. They drive their employees and contractors into the ground without an overall plan for success.

Advice to Management

Invest in replacing store systems. Clean upper/middle management tiers in IT. Enforce ethical sourcing. Hold upper management accountable, not just middle/lower management.

    Pros

Great company that has come a very long way from being the big underdog to Home Depot to being a clear contender. Lots of technological advances being made to make everyone's experience more pleasant.

    Cons

Some of the newer assistant managers and store managers have little or no prior management experience at this level of management and don't know how to treat people. Lowes is losing a lot of great employees due to incompetent senior management.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your A players and go to having offsite HR managers. There is no open door policy due to the fact that all HRM's feel the need to suck up to the store manager.
