Pros

Co-workers are great to get along with. Most people are very helping.

Cons

Very physical job and can be very tiring at times. Also if you're full time, you have no life because you work crazy hours all the time.

Responsible for many positions within the company but good, positive people to work with!

    Pros

The people working there were very upbeat and positive for the most part. Gives a good chance to help people out. Ability to learn more about projects for your own home and some good tools to get the job done

    Cons

Dealing with customers can be frustrating. People come and go at Lowe's fairly often so you may find yourself working in various positions at the store.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We know customers are first but don't forget about your employees!

Overall a great satisfying experience if you like home improvement and helping customers and contractors.

    Pros

Opportunities for growth and advancement if you apply yourself.
Very fast paced environment. Days go by quickly.
Better than average pay compared to other retailers.
Bonus pay opportunities but sometimes hard to achieve.
Excellent benefits which include insurance (health, dental, vision and life), 401K with company matching, employee stock options, 1-4 weeks of paid vacation depending on tenure, 6 paid holidays, 10% employee discount, numerous purchase discounts with other companies such GM, Met Life, Verizon, AT&T, Microsoft, others and employer tuition reimbursement.
Its satisfying after you and/or your team successfully help a customer complete projects, work through difficulties and achieve their dreams.

    Cons

    Multitasking required. Can be stressful.
    Working with the public.
Lots of training but mostly self-taught through computer courses.
For majority of store positions you will be physically on your feet most of the day on hard concrete floors.
Communication between management and hourly is sometimes lacking.
Projects, programs and merchandising changes are rolled out quickly before some of the bugs are removed so this sometimes leads to confusion and aggravations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn home improvement and how things work. I've seen too many "new" managers that know how to manage but are clueless about home improvement.
