I have been working at Lowe's full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Decent pay, tuition reimbursement plan, good benefits. The people you work with are generally nice and fun to be around.

Cons

horrible hours and schedules, a lot of manual labor depending on the department. There are those horrible customers that come in and believe that they are entitled to everything.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be training. There should be set shifts for full time, fills in for part times.

Very good at first. Progressed rapidly. When in upper management, no communication, which led to a fire

Former Employee - Department Sales Manager  in  Bridgeton, MO

I worked at Lowe's full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work-life was balanced by asking off for up coming events. Could switch hours with another associate. Compensation was good, personal growth was good and asked at yearly reviews if you would like to move higher.

    Cons

Expected to do things that you are not informed about, then held against you. Put on "final notices" when you are initially not told about a problem existing before - hand. Which is a BIG - LACK OF COMMUNICATION.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Much better communication from ASM's is greatly needed. Lowes focuses on hiring "younger employees" and moving them up the ladder, which is discriminatory. It seems upper management is committed to having "yes" people as Department Managers
