I have been working at Lucas Group full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Lucas Group provides you with great resources, strong management and a good brand. The hours are flexible, and no one is looking over your shoulder. This is a great place to learn both sides of a recruiting desk. The culture is great; collaborative, fun and young.

Cons

Overall, not much to say negative. The company could leverage old relationships better and manage accounts more effectively. That, however, is in the process of change for the better...

I worked at Lucas Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Professional environment. Flexibility with time in office. Need to be a professional and work your desk and produce. Great IT support, great name recognition, well respected in the industry.

    Cons

Need to be a self starter and entrepeneur. No help from Managing Partner. He is a producing mgr and mainly concerned with his own desk. Supports producers. If you're new, you could sit at your desk for months and never get any feedback or help from the manager. He comes in late, take over 2 hrs for lunch, golf, etc. Stays late in early eve hours to work on HIS searches.
If your not in the group who has been here for 10 plus yrs, it is almost imposibble to be part of the team. Old timers walk by you and don't even say hi. They know you are not part of the core group and will not be there long.
Irvine office will always have this reputation as long as they have this Managing Partner who has been there 15 yrs.
Management more concerned with phone time than billings. Behind the times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change philosophy of recruiter stats. Time on phone, number of connects. How about placements, or sendouts to make the placements. Archaic management.
