I have been working at Lutron full-time for more than a year

Pros

Some of the employees are very nice. A creative environment if you're an engineer. Beautiful work environment with a hiking trail intersecting the property.

Cons

Think Mad Men... top management tier, except for the owners daughter, are men. Female secretaries -- yes, secretaries -- get them coffee and lunch. Very conservative, formal environment. Regimented and lacks flexibility, no work-from-home or alternative hours. Disorganized project management, and not everyone is nice. Very few African American workiers -- I think I've seen two.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider instituting work from homes. Add project managers. Promote people other than white men to top positions.

Formal and conservative to the point of stuffy, good products but falling a little behind

I have been working at Lutron full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

they give projects to new hires and a decent hiring salary. Products are quality. They don't usually screw over the end user.

    Cons

Raises are a joke, promotions can be accompanied by 1% raises, after a few years new hires are making more than established because raised don't keep up with the job market., no performance to pay relationship. If you aren't willing to live in Allentown area you will only get so far. The 5 principals of Lutron say it all. In 5th place is take care of the employees. Joel isn't a nice person.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If management cared to listen they have had many chances. They think they have all the answers, of course directions change every 6 months, but they are always right each time.

I have been working at Lutron full-time

    Pros

This company has been on the forefront of it's markets for a very long time and produces very good products. They are dedicated to innovation and it is built on a very solid foundation. The culture among employees is as friendly as you would expect in the small headquarters town.

    Cons

For all of its history and statements about taking care of the customer, the company struggles to admit the viability of negative customer opinions and effectively address the issues that form them.
