    Pros

there are still some talent here that you cannot find elsewhere, so still a good learning base in the beginning. First 3 years is good here, then there are probably better opportunities in terms of career growth and quality work. The trick is to manage your own career and positioning on work and projects. There are alot of opportunities to do this with the current market and project funding going into the company.
Pay is very good. Pension is OK. Bonuses are awesome. The CEO has successfully eliminated 9/80 schedule from some parts of the company, but they gave it back to parts where loss of talent was beyond what they were hoping for. So, ask about alternative work schedule specific to location where you are planning to seek a position.

    Cons

Much of the experienced talent has moved on to other companies where it is more competitive in regard to employee oriented policies. There is lot of work that is really not valued in most other parts of this industry. So try and avoid the 'hype' flavor of the year upper management driven 'initiatives', or you may be 5 years down the road with nothing to talk about in your next interview.
The vision is short ranged depite what is said.
There is strong talk of safety, but some of the actions with contradict ll the way to the top.
Moral is hit or miss, but has definately declined.
The employee retention is very bad, and positions stay open for a while.
The upper management has a bully mentality.
CEO is trying to implement some senior level engineering overseas India.

    Pros

Competitive Pay, Yearly Bonus, Exceptional Benefits, and huge career potential. Safety culture is top of class with commitment from top down. Lots of opportunity for professional growth. My performance is not limited by the company.

    Cons

Company is VERY lean, which has some benefits (such as pay and job security), but mostly just contributes to a lot of stress. There is a lot more work that needs to be done than can be (this applies to EVERY position in the company) so you are constantly in a pit trying to complete action items and legal requirements. This company is not for people who cannot handle stress or time & task management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More focus on a family atmosphere or improving the "outside of work" culture. Other companies seem to successfully promote a friendly atmosphere by organizing trips and inter-company sports leagues. These types of activities will eventually help promote a safer company culture as they reallly do feel like a "family".
Also, there is a boom going on and we have continued to decrease headcount. We are past the efficiency bell curve and are starting to pay for it with delayed projects, lack of data tracking (there's no time for it), and "lost profit opportunities" not being addressed.
