Pros

Trust junior people with opportunity to developp great carreers quickly Great place to developp and meet senior managers Internship motivation program

Cons

Low salaries - package is poor No possibility to renegotiate your package and appraisals are not the place to discuss reasons of success or failures

Advice to Management

Too huge discrepancies between different managers. Sales got usually the best ones. It seems that less focus is given to other departments

    Pros

They give the outside sales team lots of support, and their methodology is a great system to use. Lots of freedom as an outside sales rep, great time off with no hassle, work from home office, and a great $7000 annual car allowance.

    Cons

Not paid very well, high turnover, and their 1st week of initial training is brutal, it is geared toward somebody who has absolutley no idea about selling, yet, to be an outside sales rep you need experience. They really need to change their training program. Not very well respected by customers, think about it, you sell pens and paper.

    Advice to Management

Pay more. Change training program. Pay more attention to the Canadian Operation. At the last sales convention in Montreal, Eric Bigeard clearly stated in his speech that Canada was doing terrible, not something nice to say at a sales convention when it's supposed to be positive.

    Pros

very competitive industry, great training programs, good people that work as colleagues all over the country. also very interesting opportunites throughout the world.

    Cons

structure of how to manage sales. i.e. margins etc., can be a bit confusing. Sales expectations sometimes difficult to achieve to reach 'bonus'. this aspect has been and can be very discouraging for people who are out there beating the pavement and working to increase sales only to be held back by the fact the margin is not sufficient or within the parameters outlined by senior management.

    Advice to Management

Bonus structure should be reworked. it can be very difficult to maintain a margin level along with the increased sales as pre-determined at the beginning of the fiscal year. the industry is constantly changing and it's important we are more flexible and move along with the iminent changes.
