MAX is a great place for developers/engineers, especially if you value working from home.

I worked at MAX full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Ability to work from home; a large backlog, but relaxed and flexible schedule; nice office with plenty of space; good middle-management; open to new technology;

Cons

HR (or lack of): my first paycheck and a later bonus were both late by several weeks; upper management micro-manages design and is completely inflexible on design changes;

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire an actual designer, let your product team handle the details of features, and involve your engineers earlier in the process.

    Pros

    10% discount on everything except consoles. Everyone in the company is nice including the managers. Good company

    Cons

    Minimum Wage. Work way to hard for that. Took a while to learn the ropes since the training wasnt so good.

    Pros

    Very strong work-life balance. Realistic and pragmatic software development life cycle. Not afraid to introduce new technologies and tools into the mix. Telecommuting available. Some very promising recent management hires and promotions.

    Cons

    This is a small company so there are some administrative gaps. HR is one of these.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    You hire professionals to do their job. Don't micro-manage the pixels on their screen, please.
