    I have been working at MFS full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    This company provides excellent benefits. Heath, Dental and vision insurance is one of the best. Located in a new fresh building near BackBay station for easy commute.

    Cons

    Information Technology department has people at Vice President level who have been with the company for decades. They have created Master Slave type culture in IT. They enjoy setting unrealistic expectations for their employees and promote themselves when their employees are the ones who work hard to reach that goal. Instead of supporting their staff in meeting their goals, they love creating road blocks so that they can get an opportunity to punish people in public to show their authority. There is a fierce competition going on at VP level to cut each other's throat. They are destroying the environment in that process. Working here is not fun anymore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Seek some help. Open your eyes and see how VPs in other companies thrive to make their place better place to work. Learn from others.

    Pros

    Excellent benefits, very good, collaborative culture for a financial services company. Good people. Good work/life balance.

    Cons

    Low growth potential within the firm, low salaries relative to the industry. If you work in the Service Center, both of these problems are greatly magnified.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Invest more in your performers -- MFS bleeds a lot of great talent because there are minimal opportunities for career growth.
