Pros

Company Comparable Salary, Compensation & Benefits. Hotel division is trying to work on latest technologies and tool sets. Very good company to start or build career in hospitality technologies. Pros and cons can changed based on location and job role.

Cons

Very few or practically no growth opportunities for technical people. Recognition and praises are almost missing.

Advice to Management

As a technical company, management needs to focus on providing growth opportunities to skilled technical employees.

    Pros

    Developers are fairly compensated; Management is very understanding about personal issues and personal time; Many developers are truly gifted technicians and are always willing to help fellow developers; The company gives 2 days off for both Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays; Many of the employees in the Naples office are genuinely nice people, making the work environment pleasant;

    Cons

    As a whole, the company's policies toward software development are very short sighted. The development process that is currently implemented is frustrating and often make a difficult job unbearable. There is an element of 'management by fear' throughout the company - and this tactic is currently being used in the Naples office. Annual reviews are not discussed with the employee before they are submitted to headquarters, so the employee has no chance to explain situations to the manager before decisions are made and ratings are assigned. From a development perspective, the system is virtually undocumented and depends on the employee's memory as to why decisions were made - often causing confusion and duplication of work. Training is a nightmare - nonexistent. Management and Business Analysts have no technical experience.

    Advice to Management

    Bring the development office in line with proven industry standards for software development practices.

    Pros

    Industry Leader that has solid products and draws in some talented people

    Cons

    Very poor communication from Executive Management. Micromanaging employees down to the minute on their lunch hours. Driving away the best and the brightest by underpaying, overworking and demoralizing them. Many promises made and broken.

    Advice to Management

    Stop micromanaging and give people the tools and resources to be successful. If you launch a product, fully support it, don't wait for the sales and then assign people and resources. Stop giving lip service to Customer Service and put resources towards making it better.
