    Pros

Intellectually stimulating. Students are fantastic. Depending on department, the community can be strong. Lots of opportunities to collaborate

    Cons

Low pay and benefits. Opportunities to move on to academic positions is limited. Many challenges ahead for postdocs who want to stay in academics.
