    Pros

    *Great benefits (health, 401K, vacation, paid time off, flexible hours). Few other companies can compare.

    *Education opportunities are plenty. They provide in-house training classes and also pay for schooling. Plenty of opportunity to attend conferences as well.

    *Sometimes there are awards for a good job done.

    *Great people, smart people. Most people have graduate degrees.

    *Great work-life balance. Flexible work times and vacation times are excellent.

    Cons

    *Lots of politics.

    *Difficult to get promotions. Often politics plays into this.

    *Career path is undefined.

    *Research and software development work is tough to come by.

    *Lots of systems engineering and acquisition work. Often software engineers are hired to perform systems engineering tasks, resulting in an unsatisfied employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    * Define better career paths for junior level employees
    * Identify requirements for promotions
    * Focus more on research efforts
