Pros

Great place to practice your sales skills and develop new sales
Selling much sooner than would have been if I went to another company.
Compensation is fair, some base pay, some incentive, the more you sell the more you make, pretty straight forward, don't sell much, don't make much more than base.
It's a young company so the energy is good, people have fun at work and enjoy each others company, many of the employees are friends outside of work.
Company has won numerous awards for culture and sales growth. Seem to be breaking new sales records every month.
Market and products are in an OSHA/ safety regulated space and your helping people evolve from paper to electronic so it's truly value added and you feel like you're making a difference.

Cons

It's a relatively smaller company (around 150 employees) so if you are looking for a company where you can retire at this may not be the place. As a small company career growth is limited because you can only have so many managers or leaders in a smaller company, but some people do get promoted so it's possible.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find more ways to warm up leads/ prospects so sales reps can spend their time doing more value-added tasks vs. cold calling.

    Sales in saturated market.

    Pros

Sales reps are given training upon starting with the company. The environment is pretty laid back and it's decent money for a recent grad. After the first week of training, you become eligible to earn commission when you begin calling.

    Cons

Management has high expectations for the industry. Most of the ideal candidates have been contacted and that leaves lean lists for new hires to call on. In my interview, I was told it would be warm leads only, which turned out to be false. Though they do provide recent registrants, most of the leads reps are given are from lists that are often outdated and overflowing with worthless leads. These will often include machine shops that are small and don't need the product or have been called multiple times in the past and simply don't want to pay for a service that would get little to no use.
As far as promotion, there is a chance with high employee turnover. However, if you wish to see something more than a team lead position within 4-5 years, then this is not the job for you. Managers are often sitting on social sites and chatting with friends throughout the day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give your reps realistic goals and acknowledge them for the work that they do. The "favorites" card has been played in other reviews and this could not be more true. Reward reps for performance and encourage those that can use help. Micro-manage when it is necessary but still give reps their space and time to get comfortable.
