I worked at MTV Networks

Pros

MTV Networks has a great culture. Everyone who is there wants to go to work every day. They make your experience extremely enjoyable.

Cons

The organization is so large that it is merely impossible to get a taste of it all. Also, the candidate application process can be more effective shortened.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think that MTV Networks is doing well. It is a great place to work! One area for improvement would be to look more into the recruitment process and to make it more efficient.

OK, place to work, but you produce a crap product most of the time and they know it. They follow not lead.

    I worked at MTV Networks

    Pros

    - Most of the management is interested in helping employees achieve their goals
    -Good benifits
    - Good vacation and summer fridays
    - A few perks as far as travel and budgets
    - They say work life balance is important

    Cons

    - You produce a crap product. It is all about how much you can produce for how cheep
    - The pay is way bellow industry standard unless your a VP or above
    - There are lots of young people and thus lost of emotional reactions and lack of professional behavior
    - MTV follows NOT leads, they are always behind the eight ball never satisfied with where they are and not quite sure where they are going. After Tom Freston left the vision seemed to go with him

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees what they are worth. Lead the conversation, stop following. Go back to your roots of socially conscious programs and stop all of the reality TV crap. Realize cable networks are soon to be a thing of the past.
