Unfortunately I was over worked and under paid. However, I learned a lot of new things to put on my resume.

It's convenient to get to. I didn't have to go into the city and that's always a plus.

Some leadership passes the buck.

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, overtime. Good experience to work with chronic mental health and introduce yourself to group collaboration (therapists, psychiatrists, medical doctors, etc.). Good experience to build clinical writing skills.

    Cons

Poor management and no employee incentive. Sure, there's overtime, but there are no pay raises within this position, so whether you've been there 5 years or 2 months you all make the same amount. There is also a lack of care for employees. The place is a zoo, the residents have more rights than rules so attempting to get them to do what they need to is difficult.

    Advice to Management

Try working with the residents all the time. It's easy to say "do this and do that" but until you have actually worked with them, you should listen to your employees.

Very little or no incentive to work hard at your job here.

    Pros

Benefits and hours are great, work is rewarding.

    Cons

It is difficult to feel respected or valued as an employee here. Management is disorganized and does nothing to keep the good employees around. Pay is very low as it is, and expectations are too high. The model they are using to run an agency is flawed.

    Advice to Management

Consider recognizing in some way the employees who go the extra mile.
