Macy's East – “Macy's does not respect its employees”
2 of 2 people found this helpfulPros
It's a place that one can work if you are in between jobs. I would not recommend someone pursue working there as a career unless the really love and are good at sales.
Cons
Having to harass customers to open credit Applications, Having to solicit people to do on-line surveys on performance, cirlcing and signing receipt, no regular schedules, little control over your schedule.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop treating every employee like they are a potential criminal. Stop coming up with fifty million things that each employee must do perfectly so that you are not constantly harassing hard working employees. (For example, if one does not great the customer by name, try to upsell at least two items, push hard for a credit ap, sign the receipt, tell the customer to rate the service online, walk the bag around the counter to the customer, thank the customer by name for shopping and also welcome the customer back to the store when secretly observed by managing they get a negative rating on how they deal with customers. This is not likely to happen if the store is unstaffed (which it usually is.)
