    Pros

Generous vacation time (for management positions).

    Cons

Abusive, hostile working environment for associates and managers alike. All are underpaid and overworked. Upper management deliberately under staffs, and then forces employees to do jobs outside of their hired roles - then, when their actual roles are neglected as a result, management sticks the employees with the blame and fires people who need these jobs. Pure manipulation. Blames lack of new credit accounts on everything except the fact that people don't want a 24% APR store card in this economy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ballston upper store management needs a reality check. You are the issue, not your associates. You can't hire people at minimum wage, force 3 per 30,000 sq feet. to sell, clean, and maintain that floor, and expect Nordstrom quality results. No associate at that level cares about M.A.G.I.C. coaching or learning advanced selling techniques, let alone after you burn them out. M.A.G.I.C. 1, 2, 3... you can go to 25 and you will get the same result. Nothing. Try and manipulate people all you want, you can pass the buck for your failure only for so long. Also, your HR manager needs to learn the meaning of the word "confidentiality".
