I have been working at Macy's full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Macy's is a huge supporter of charities, both local and national. What they do for the community is simply outstanding.

Cons

Poor top-down communication with associates, little to no opportunities for advancement, favoritism

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't offer positions to employees looking to advance when they (the position offered) don't even exist.

    Pros

A lot of responsibilities for a basic Agent...which is good in sense that it gives you great experience to build on.

    Cons

Doesn't compensate you fully for all the responsibilities that other companies would performing at a higher level

  2.

I worked at Macy's (more than a year)

    Pros

benefits offered if maintain 20 hours per week or more

    Cons

communication is terrible; schedule is manipulated by managers without notice and expectation is that your schedule belongs to the company. You can not plan dr. apts. ahead because special sale days show up, vacation requests are met with disdain, and they demand you open credit cards constantly! Your employee evaluation is on how many credit cards you can open for them in a day

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with respect. Credit applications should not be PUSHED every 15 minutes...customers get turned off. Focus on what you offer, good product, great service at an affordable price!
