    Pros

Meeting new people. free makeup when you worked in cosmetics. associate discount. commissioned based (only in certain departments).

    Cons

Upper management doesn't know how to communicate. Unrealistic expectations for too low of wages. The scorecard system is deeply flawed and I feel like it is used to hurt employees rather than improve their worth ethic. Management only cares about you as an employee if you open credit card account, no matter what department you work in, it is an expectation. The irony behind this is that a lot of people refuse to come into Macy's because of the employees pressuring them to open store accounts, so Macy's has lost significant business over the years because of their store cards.

    Advice to Management

Quit using Macy's cards as a way to build business, it is hurting you. If employees are measured by a scorecard, than management should be too, and I am talking about individually measured. Department managers should also be required to open credit applications and meet a quota, just like their under-payed employees.
