Pros

Most everyone works well together.

Cons

Stress of working alone most of the time.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much pressure on agents to prosecute shoplifters when they are working alone and expected to perform other duties at the same time. They need to look at the big picture.

    I have been working at Macy's part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Easy job and pleasant work environment. You get the discount and to see all the new and cheap clothes.

    Cons

    Bad pay and no room for advancement.

    Pay more and you wouldn't have such a high turnover

    I have been working at Macy's full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    -Flexible Scheduling & The ability to swap shifts
    -Getting to interact with a wide array of customers
    - Employee discounts combined with sales and coupons can get you some really cheap items

    Cons

    - Management Sucks/Is Rude to Employees/ Don't update you on events an policies
    -Employees do not work as a team and are constantly working against each other to make sales
    -Lots of gossiping and harassment in the work place that gets overlooked by management
    -Sales Goals are too high even when their are no customers
    - Expected to constantly stay busy even when there is nothing to do at all
    -Have to Solicit( Harass) Customers to open credit accounts
    -Credit system used for days off usually works against you
    -It seems like they hire anyone
    - Security focuses more on employees than on customers even though there is a high level of theft

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    A lot of people working here have bad attitudes and really don't like their jobs. They make other employees who are trying to do their job and provide positive customer service have to deal with an uncomfortable working environment. The hiring process should be stricter because it seems as though they will hire anyone and don't care about having a high turnover rate.
