I have been working at Macy's part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

If you can land a flex position you practically have complete control of your schedule. This is great for a college student. You can work more hours during breaks or not work at all during finals.

Also, if you have strong sales skills you can come in on a busy day and make $14-28/hour.

You can meet a lot of good people and network.

    Cons

Macy's gives practically all customers the same discount (coupons) if not better than the employees who work hard (for low pay)to make Macy's what it is.

Also, they constantly pressure to pressure customers into getting a store credit card. Most often people already have it, aren't eligible, or don't want another credit card.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers need to approach associates with Macy's Magic as they train employees to approach customers. Often they come at you to push credit cards and sales, but have no introduction or use for you once they are done.
