    I worked at Macy's full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to sell top quality products to a target audience interested mostly in getting excellent service. Additionally, the benefits were good. Finally, great team members.

    Cons

There was limited opportunity for a vertical upward mobility as far as promotion was concerned. However, I was in school at the time, which might have been a constraint.

I have been working at Macy's full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

There is nothing good about this employer

    Cons

Lousy pay. Lousy Boss. Many of my co-workers need public assistance to feed their families. The sales people are pushed to make record sales but it is the managers who are rewarded with a bonus. The sales people are treated like crap.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Stop engaging in discrimination based upon race, gender, sexual orientation, and nationality.

    2. Stop selling fake gemstones that are really colored glass.

    3. For heaven's sake clean the restrooms. They smell like an outhouse and are infested with ants!

    4. Stop the hypocrisy. Macy's claims to be America's department store that celebrates diversity and then harasses anyone who does not fit a white-male-Christian-Anglo Saxon image.

    5. Managers-stop behaving like eight year old brats.

    6. Managers-Do you really think we want to be rewarded with gold stars? We are not five year olds!
