I have been working at Macy's full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The salary is good for me since I've worked there for 16 years. Macy's is a great place to meet new people, celebrities. As a mega store there are many opportunities to be promoted from within, almost any positions you can think of you can find it Macy's.

    Cons

The hours can be brutal as is in any retail stores. You can be overlooked for promotions if you are not aggressive because there are many candidate available, you need to be flexible and be willing to learn from many dept managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn about the employees, get to know them, that's not easy for one on one conversation since some stores have hundreds of employees, but with regular group meetings you will discover hidden gems. There are many in the store with ideas and talents that are not been utilized this is a lost to the company. Macy's has a lot of magic training but not enough I care about you training.
