I worked at Macy's full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Company Values, Employee discount, Benefits, Great co-workers

Cons

The long extended hours, It gets worse with the holidays 6 days and 10 hrs shifts plus inventory. Now some stores close in Christmas at 3:00am for the managers 4:00am not acceptable.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

they should rotate the time off on the holidays

    Pros

If you're a people person, this is a great job to have. The most important thing to do day to day is interact with customers, which can be a challenge in and of itself. Sometimes you get customers that are just fun to help and talk to that make it easier.

    Cons

Your job description is inaccurate as you find yourself doing things that are for other roles. They work on a point system for being late or calling out without someone picking up your shift which makes you not want to come in anyway. The managers are constantly hounding you to do one thing and then when you do it they want you to do something else immediately. There is too much pressure on opening credit accounts when people either already have it, know they won't get approved, or don't want it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out a new system regarding being late and whatnot. Pay attention to your managers more as they can drift from the real objective.
