Pros

Easy work, rather simple to adjust schedule to your liking.

Cons

Idiotic "Sales goals." IE sell X amount of goods for the day and you get graded on your production. Makes the workplace unnecessarily competitive for retail. Also pressured by management to open credit card accounts, even if utilizing underhanded tactics. No chain of command to report issues to, HR is a joke. A lot of internacine politics. Quality of work doesn't matter when it comes to promotion, sleep with the store manager and you're good to go.

Advice to Management

Stop basing promotions based on who you sleep with.

    Pros

Flexible schedule; ability to give away shifts or call out online; closing and opening only take 15 minutes each

    Cons

Can be hard to get hours if you're not full time; pressure to open credit cards for customers; the "score card" that affects pay raises is unreasonable (for instance, have to get 166% of your sales goal to get credit for it. why is there even a goal if you have to get that much over 100%?)

  2. Age discrimination but they know how to get around it.

    Pros

    Discount, working with the associates.

    Cons

Store managers....demanding yet they sit in their offices and do not see what it is really like on the selling floor. They walk out at 5:30 but expect so much from their managers we all stayed and worked extra hours just to keep up with their demands. I showed my manager a time management chart to explain what I did on a given week and how long it took for each task and of course it was so far past the 40 hours it was nuts. She said I needed to manage my time better.
