Pros

Your uniform is sleek and chic, the clientele is high end with expensive taste

Cons

You can not except tips and holiday recovery is extremely hectic but cn easily be done with team work

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep a good repor with employees, and allow associates to work in areas they are good @ selling and can research and mster the brands they work with..

    Pros

    The people are always awesome. Can actually be a fun job.

    Cons

    The demands to get work done are extremely high. Can never finish what you have to do and they still want more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop cutting personnel from the floor level to save money. Find a better way to save money.

    I worked at Macy's part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible scheduling, lots of breaks, free samples, commission, 20% off employee discount, managers were pretty lax.

    Cons

    Lots of downtime, zero sales/customer service training, no product training, not loyal to long time employees. We had to open at least 3 credit card accounts per month. Very low pay. No employee appreciation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Training is vital to an organization. Employees and sales can really soar with some customer service and sales training. Also there really is no values or culture at Macys. They don't care about their employees. Also, with the low pay, the 20% employee discount is not really that helpful at all.
