I worked at Magnolia Bakery full-time

Pros

Some of these things obviously are not permitted but the employees do it anyway. Eat whatever you, whenever you want, you can use your cellphone anytime just step in the back, no uniforms, come in late or call in sick or no call no show and still have a job. Argue with brainless managers yet you will still have a job, oh and overtime, lots and lots of overtime but managers won't even question you! Mess up a recipe and they will still sell the product because management does not know how the product should look.

Cons

The same as above, at first it was ok since obviously you can do whatever you want, show up whenever you want, but over time you get sick of working with undisciplined, immature people.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'm sure NY knows what's going on, by January I'm sure they are gonna clean house again like they did earlier this year.

I have been working at Magnolia Bakery part-time

    Pros

U can eat all the baked goods you want but it depends who is baking that day.

    Cons

Chicago management are clueless, inexperienced and disorganized! They expect you to do all the work while they pretend to ice cupcakes for hours! All their shift supervisors and other staff quit one by one. There was also a time when they had no bakers because all the bakers quit or walked out. They just hired a so called pastry chef but she cannot bake to save her life! She wasted thousands of dollars because most of her products gets tossed out!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more experienced management so you won't fly back and forth from NY to train here in Chicago! Take good care of your hourly staff who are dedicated and hardworking! Please promote from within rather than hire someone new and then gets fired coz they are not a good fit.
