I worked at Mandarin Oriental

Pros

Great coworkers, they really feel like a family. They pay great, above normal and you'll love your job. Managers are good but not great but not bad

Cons

They ask for a lot of hours to put in. They mess up at times with your checks, payroll is a pain in the butt. And you feel intimidated by the higher management there, the director positions, hardest dapartment to work for is food and beverage. It's the funniest but most strict

I have been working at Mandarin Oriental

    Pros

A fancy hotel name to add to your resume

    Cons

The only positive thing about working for the Mandarin is the fact that you get to add it to your resume. Absolutely will NOT recommend this hotel to anyone to work for!! HR is useless, managers don know what they're doing, very high expectations for a measly pay,the only ones who enjoy the hotel are the guests.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to actually pay managers a little better and hire managers with KNOWLEDGE. The hotel is in serious need of new managers who could turn the tables around for the best!

    I worked at Mandarin Oriental

    Pros

Best job experience would be in Asia

    Cons

No work/life balance. Most management looks down upon employees. Worst company to ever work for in luxury hotel world.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make it a positive environment, reward your employees for hard work.
