1. Uninspiring leadership in software engineering. Most managers director-level and above are smart but lack leadership skills. Some resort to unnecessary pressure tactics to get work done. As a result, employees lack enthusiasm and do not take pride in their work, leading to quality issues and frustration for all concerned.
