I have been working at Marathon Oil

    Pros

Work/Life Balance is the best reason to work for Marathon Oil Company. The company's location, culture, perks, and flexible 9/80 work schedule are wonderful as well.

    Cons

Pay does not reflect experience in a lot of areas. Many are underpaid, while many are overpaid. Reward and Recognition for good employees is lacking. Low performers are not reprimanded. Many low-level managers hired externally have less experience than their direct reports.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seriously pay more attention to areas where turn-over is higher than normal. Appreciate loyal employees just as much as new hires (who still have yet to prove their abilities). Focus on retention and not only recruitment.
