Only good for part time work. Not good for a career choice.

I worked at Marcus Theatres

Pros

If you are working as a regular associate, it is no different than any other movie theater job. Part time work is okay.

Cons

If you are in any level of management under the GM level, get out now. There is basically no room for advancement.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop stepping on the backs of people who work harder than you, so that you can further your own career goals.

    I worked at Marcus Theatres

    Pros

Its very easy, lots of people to interact with. Shifts are easily covered and can easily pick up shifts. Working around young people. Get in movies for free. All you can eat popcorn. deal with only quarters (tax included) get the days you need off off. There is a suggestion box so you can 'voice' your opinion. Very organized

    Cons

Many of the managers are lazy or on a power high. They did not promote some of the people who should have been promoted. They really lack the training of money handling/transactions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A manger should be on the floor at all times. A manager should train employees on cash handling instead of being thrown right into the chaos

I have been working at Marcus Theatres

    Pros

The free movies, popcorn, and drinks are the main reason to work there, but if you don't go to many movies, the benefits really end there. However, availability is also a perk as well, as the management schedules your shifts around your requested days fairly well.

    Cons

Be prepared to lose all goodwill toward popcorn if you're in concessions, as you will know it intimately by the end of your shifts. Same thing with garbage if you're an usher. Also, as in almost any kind of work, you will get the rudest, most inconsiderate human beings to walk the earth to come down the hallway, unsure of which theatre they're in, and spilling nacho cheese and ICEE while at it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the floor staff more, as they have to deal with the most problems out of anyone, so if one of them brings something up, it's usually something that should be looked at with consideration.
