Pros

Offices in great locations
Departments other than Customer Success are run well
"Worker bees" that care

Cons

Lack of executive leadership
Lots of turnover in Customer Success group
Reactive product development cycle

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember that it is always the client that comes first. As such, arm, motivate, train and incent your customer facing folks instead of blaming them the for the poor contracts they inherited from sales or the client dissatisfaction from a complex product that has slipped behind the competition.

    Pros

    strong brand, good location, solid benefits

    Cons

    Company suffering from incessant nepotism and change of management. HR is clueless. Product has lacked innovation for some time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get back to grassroots. Poor executive hiring is forcing current talent to find less abusive employers. Not ok way you're treating ppl who've dedicated years to mission/vision.

    Great product, company culture quickly changing

    I have been working at Marin Software

    Pros

    -The product is industry leading and the folks building it are really smart
    -Competitive salary
    -Ok work life balance
    - being in a remote office is fairly autonomous as long as you get your work done

    Cons

    -Becoming consumed in corporate red tape
    -Management overhaul- original management from start up has left and new management doesnt care as much about culture
    -lack of visibility in remote offices. People in SF are getting picked for all special projects
    -lack of management direction. We've been in a state of constant flux for 1.5 years with no goals or reviews

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Settle on a structure and have the discipline to stay with it. Work on ways to keep old employees, historical knowledge is huge in a tech/software company and the ramp up speed is slow.

    Keep putting emphasis on building a great product. It's easy to stay excited when great things are coming out
