I worked at Market Leader full-time (more than an year)

Pros

good benefits, easy commute if you live on the eastside, big percs for top sales reps: lunch with the boss, trips, bonuses, Glengarry leads, greetings, acknowledgement and conversation

Cons

Old-school methods to motivate sales reps, such as threats and blame; alternative suggestions are met with - and shot down by - the old standard "That's just how it's done" or "That's how it is in a sales organization." High turnover - if you don't love cold calling (and you're calling real estate agents, people who receive cold calls all day long) you won't make it

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to our ideas for improving the work environment; sub-standard ethics shouldn't be tolerated from reps who make the company a lot of money

    I have been working at Market Leader full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    Market Leader has a good pay plan and excellent benefits. They are always improving their products and revenue is up at the company. The company has made a difference for generating more income for some real estate agents.

    Cons

    Cold calling real estate agents is challenging. Many real estate agents cancel product due to poor lead quality resulting in a clawback on the account executive's commission. Egotistical sales management that does not mentor employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Improve your product quality and customer service. Give everyone a fair chance at inbound leads and inbound sales calls - especially the Seattle office. Hire sales managers who can inspire, and truly educate, rather than bully and monitor employees.

    Pros

    Inspirational and goal oriented leaders. Incredible compensation package, a company culture that creates an environment where employees enjoy being at work, and outstanding products/services the lead to success in our customers. Love it here!

    Cons

    I can't think of any downsides other than as in any sales role Inside Sales is never an "easy" job and to be successful in this position persistence and a strong desire to succeed is a must.
