I have been working at Marriott

Pros

Global brand with beautiful properties all over the world. The great opportunity to work abroad. Good benefits and support. Pay is a little bit better if working for a Marriott International managed property. Great associate rates for rooms all over the world.

Cons

Takes a lot of hard work, time and patience to move up. Must be willing to relocate in order to move up.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to employees who are actually making a positive impact for the brand. With those employees help them grow in the right direction for success in the organization/industry. Cut loose the ones that don't make an impact and are just there preventing the growth of the up and coming.

I have been working at Marriott

    Pros

    Great discounts on hotels
If you need money, very flexible, great hours
    Worked downtown, met many people
    Great Assistant General Manager

    Cons

hotel discount not available on holiday weekends
every hotel is different, corporate marriots have their own rules and pay, independent marriots have their own rules and pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to be more organized, all marriots whether independent owned or corporate owned should have the same pay, there should be know reason your hourly based pay should ever go down, when moving to another hotel
