    I worked at Marriott

    Pros

Great experience, you make plenty of contacts and are exposed to a wide range of disciplines. There are plenty of opportunities for lateral moves and advancement.

    Cons

Very demanding business to be in, not the great work-life balance sometimes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open up the lines of communication between mid-level management and regional leadership. Mid-level managers have a lot of ideas, and are a vital connection to the front-line employees, the guests, and the day-to-day operation of the business.

I have been working at Marriott full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good teamwork, company provides a meal during shift, great discounts at company properties, on-site dry cleaning for uniforms, great employee recognition programs

    Cons

Does not pay as well as many other industries, guests can be difficult to please

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay hourly employees a bit more. They are the ones who interact with guests the most. Their job satisfaction has a direct impact on guest satisfaction
