Marriott is a fantastic brand, but one must be sure to understand the management philosophy of the franchisee that owns the hotel where you accept employment.

Cons

Poor management skills by franchisees can be demeaning and frustrating - i.e., lack of diversity, lack of female leadership in management.

Advice to Senior Management

Marriott, like many brands, has very little control over how their franchisees manage their employees. I could only hope that their consistent quality could carry over into a consistent, egalitarian management philosophy.
