I worked at Marriott part-time (less than a year)

Pros

Great team, good training, kind of repetitive and basic but overall you go in knowing that you are ready.

Cons

None too many. The back of the house is kind of weird. The food in the cafeteria was pretty terrible too. I can't complain though, it was super cheap. Like $1 per meal.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow employees to switch departments sooner, and ease up on the probationary period.

I have been working at Marriott full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Marriott really takes care of their employees. Great benefits! The managers really ensure you are comfortably trained for every aspect of your job.

    Cons

A lot of times working the evening/night shift you are left alone at front desk and anything that goes wrong you are responsible for. Also the pay isn't worth the amount of responsibilty you have.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Increase the amount of pay.

    I worked at Marriott

    Pros

    Flexible working hours with autonomy.

    Cons

Poor senior management. Poor facilities for cubes, etc. Very strange chargeback system to budget for CPU usage. Too much reliance on H1-B workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back to valuing your IT department as an asset, not a budget drain.
