I have been working at Marriott Vacation Club

Pros

This place is full of fun and excitement, especially if you're on a good team with a great ASM. You can make good decent money as well once you're better at selling the promotional packages. The hours are perfect for those looking for a 2nd income job to complement their full time job. Not to mention, a great job for those who only want to work part-time but receive full-time pay.

Cons

A few downside to the call center is that it isn't on an automated dialer giving one more calls with visible guest information. Secondly, the promotional package is a little pricey with very few perks. Third, YOU WILL FAIL if you don't have a good ASM backing you up and giving you help when needed. Last but certainly not least, no spiffs as a motivation.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring back spiffs and definitely revamp the packages to make it affordable and sweetened the pot with extra perks.

I have been working at Marriott Vacation Club

    Pros

The benefits are solid, with an excellent vacation package and several holidays given off. Overall, the company does value its associates for the most part.

    Cons

While there are some very talented associates at the company, there are some who have been promoted into positions for which they are not really qualified. With the economic downturn and lay-offs, office politics has gotten a tad nasty.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would help to flatten the organizational structure some. While several of the senior leaders try to make themselves accessable, many in middle management and junior executive roles are barriers to the communications that the senior leaders really need to be hearing, and to project efficiency as a whole.
