Honest look at Marsh Bellofram

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Newell, WV

ProsAfter so long, a lot of the individuals begin to feel like family. Time off is plentiful which is great for those with families, and the hours of operation are on par with most comparable organizations.

ConsManagement is bismal. Knowledge rests at the lower levels and an unwillingness to hear or gain advice or ideas from lower level employees is killing the organization. Promotions going to individuals with no experience and a lack of understanding is frustrating. Turnover is extremely high due to disappointment and frustration. No employee feels appreciated and it's not a fun place to work. Supervisors often know more than their counterparts and do much of their jobs with a fraction of their pay creating a huge disparity in pay. There is no middle class..its 20,000 a year or 65 a year. What used to be a great place to work, has turned into a lousy workplace. Individuals in supervisory, administrative and clerical positions need to be paid and respected more. The heart of the company lies within these people, and without a union to protect them and no management to respect them, it's getting worse by the day.

Advice to Senior ManagementValue the individuals you currently have employed. Promote from within to strengthen the organization and build loyalty. With absolutely no loyalty and no satisfaction, key employees are not caring anymore about the future of the company. Value your experience, take chances within and maybe you'll get results.

Why Can't Marsh Bellofram Keep Talent?

I have been working at Marsh Bellofram

Pros: There isn't much else to choose from in the area except a casino and a manufacturer of fine china. Marsh is… Cons: Sub-standard compensation and benefits packages for Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales and Support Staff. No other perks can realistically offset the negative impact of a non-competitive wage… Advice to Senior Management: My feedback would be to sacrifice that second or third house or car and invest in your talent base.… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More

Pros: It used to be a family friendly place to work where you had some flexibility.… Cons: The HR dept. seems to think that their place is to make as many people quit as possible. They strive for this by treating people… Advice to Senior Management: Get a better HR manager in there and go back to being a family… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
