I worked at Martha Stewart Living (more than 3 years)

Pros

It's a great name to have on your resume, if you're willing to pay your dues. I learned a lot there, and I wouldn't trade that for the world. I had a wonderful Senior Vice President and Senior Manager who taught me about management style, presentation skills, and strategic direction.

Cons

Unless you're Senior Management or above, you may need to choose between paying your rent and eating.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The compensation at the top is very generous, while the compensation of the support staff is horribly underpaid resulting in low employee morale. Also, it's a place where layoffs are so commonplace you can run a company pool around the holidays to see which departments are going to get the ax first.
