Pros

The culture and values associated with improving the quality and efficiency of care, as well as redesigning care delivery. Also, it is nice to know you're making an impact every day and not just going through the motions.

Cons

MGH is very big on education and research, so there are not many career opportunities if you do not at least have your Masters degree. Also, many employees at MGH are stuck in their manual ways and refuse to take advantage of electronic options.

    Pros

Great things happens here, you can do whatever you believe you need to, because you'll always find the instrument you need and the latest cutting edge machine

    Cons

The Subcommittee on Research Animal Care (SRAC) serves as the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) for MGH. SRAC largely abuses of their powers. Having an animal protocol approved or renewed takes forever (6-12 months). Committee members do not have the competence to judge an animal protocols. they ask you silly questions on your science. Still, if you want to do your experiments, you have to put apart your self esteem and be ready to lose plenty of time after their unnecessary bureaucracy.

    Advice to Management

The final perception is by far leaning toward excess concern with procedural correctness, at the expense of researchers' needs.
