I have been working at Match.com full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great culture
Great perks
Really great benefits compared to what my friends get at other companies
Pet Insurance!
Happy Hour parties every month!
Two company parties every year!!!
Fun people
Best of all, you help people find their true love!

Cons

Some people skate by without doing any work because management doesn't have the guts to fire them.
Others know how to kiss butts to keep their jobs to get ahead.
And when managers are part of the problem, well, that's the worst part. Most of the managers are great but there are a few who don't add any value.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the employees with the most complaints against them - they have no place in our fast moving company! They are dead weight.

    I worked at Match.com full-time

    Pros

Staff truly cares about helping people. Starting to be more corporate after some potential HR nightmares. Company values employees and customers.

    Cons

Cliquey. Hard to advance. Other initiatives poorly managed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Chemistry.com is a joke. Enough already. Invest in your people and finally ......20 of the same HR complaint specific to the same few people should be taken seriously.

It's all about "who you know"

I worked at Match.com (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Lots of contacts for networking,

    Cons

You need to be in the "in crowd" to move up in this company. If not, you stay where you are at and there are no pay increases without an actual promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean up the favoritism, There is a lot of great talent already in-house not being leveraged to the company's benefit because they are not part of the "in crowd" Several people currently in high level positions are holding back great talent from moving up in the company.
